Car repairs, coachworks, roadside, assistance

For the SCRAPPING and VEHICLE REGISTRATION CANCELLATION of a NUMBER-PLATED VEHICLE the following documents are required:

• ORIGINAL LOG BOOK (SEE OLD VERSION)

  • If absent (original loss report required while if damaged, the damage report is required. If the log book has been withdrawn by the Public Authority following confiscation, seizure or missing vehicle inspection report, the original withdrawal report is required)

• CERTIFICATE OF OWNERSHIP or ORIGINAL TITLE [FOGLIO COMPLEMENTARE] are the deeds certifying vehicle ownership; some vehicles have the first document, other vehicles the second.
  • If absent (original loss report is required)
• IDENTITY DOCUMENT of the vehicle holder, unexpired (photocopy front/back)
• TAX CODE of the vehicle holder (photocopy)
• The vehicle with the FRONT AND REAR NUMBER PLATES attached
  • If missing even a single number plate (original loss report specifying which plate is missing required)
• LETTER OF ASSIGNMENT for the collection of the vehicle signed by the holder.
• If the vehicle is HELD BY A DECEASED PERSON then, in addition to that which is listed in points 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5, the death certificate on plain paper, la declaration in lieu of sworn affidavit (also available at our office), the unexpired identity document and the tax code of theinheritor dealing with the breaking of the vehicle are required.
• If the vehicle is owned by a LEASING COMPANY the leasing company's breaking authorization will be required, therefore specific information must be requested directly from the Leasing Company.

For the processing of the practices we require the payment of:

• EUR 10 with the mopeds;
• EUR 30 with the motorcycle;
• EUR 0 with the passenger cars, lorries, bus and trailers;
• EUR 335 with the trailer (EUR 305 for disposal + EUR 30 for radiation).

The owner of the scrapped vehicle is issued with a Certificate of Destruction which frees them from any liability inherent in the vehicle and on which it is specified that the authorized treatment facility undertakes the commitment to directly cancel the vehicle with the PRA. The certificate also shows, as required by law, the vehicle details, the holder, the delivery date and the breaking authorization.

For the SCRAPPING of MOPEDS the following documents are required:

• ORIGINAL CERTIFICATE OF TECHNICAL SUITABILITY (aka log book): if missing, original loss report required
• IDENTITY DOCUMENT of the vehicle holder, unexpired (photocopy front/back)
• TAX CODE of the moped owner (photocopy)
• LETTER OF ASSIGNMENT for the collection of the vehicle signed by the holder.

The owner of the scrapped moped is issued with a Certificate freeing them from any liability inherent to the vehicle. As required by law, the certificate also shows the moped details, the holder, the delivery date and the breaking authorization.

For the SCRAPPING of a VEHICLE WITH ALREADY-CANCELLED REGISTRATION the following documents are required:

• PHOTOCOPY OF VEHICLE REGISTRATION CANCELLATION TO THE PRA
• IDENTITY DOCUMENT of the vehicle holder, unexpired (photocopy front/back)
• LETTER OF ASSIGNMENT for the collection of the vehicle signed by the holder.

The owner of the scrapped vehicle is issued with a Certificate freeing them from any liability inherent to the vehicle. As required by law, the certificate also shows the vehicle details, the owner, the delivery date and the breaking authorization.
